Dinotefuran 20% w/w SG has a unique feature compared to other neonicotinoid insecticides, as it has a relatively fast-acting systemic effect, meaning it can be taken up quickly by the plant and transported throughout the plant’s tissues. This feature makes it particularly useful for controlling pests that feed on plant tissues, such as aphids, whiteflies, and other sap-sucking insects.

  • Dinotefuran is a systemic insecticide that belongs to the neonicotinoid class of chemicals. Its mode of action involves targeting the insect’s nervous system by binding to specific receptors called nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). When dinotefuran is ingested by an insect, it binds to the nAChRs in the insect’s central nervous system, which leads to overstimulation of the receptors. This overstimulation causes the neurons to fire continuously, leading to paralysis and ultimately the death of the insect.

    • Dinotefuran is highly effective against various insect pests, including aphids, whiteflies, thrips, leafhoppers, mealybugs, and beetles.
    • It provides quick knockdown and long-lasting control of these pests, reducing crop damage and improving yield.
    • It can be used to control pests on various crops, such as fruits, vegetables, ornamentals, and field crops.
    • Dinotefuran is a systemic insecticide, meaning it can be absorbed by the plant and translocated to different parts, including leaves, stems, and roots.
    • Dinotefuran has a long residual activity, which means it continues to protect the plants from insect pests for an extended period.
